Some old coworkers always like to take me to different Chinese restaurants and it's very helpful when they do come because they always know what to order. I have always seen this place when I'm driving through Millbrae and during weekends I would see lines out the door, so I figured this must be a good place to eat. There were only 3 of us and yes we definitely ordered a lot! We for sure had . Their Roasted Crispy Duck was tasty and I don't really eat much duck because of the after taste. But this one surely didn't have it. We ordered basic dim sum xlb, shuimai, and pork buns. Their rolled noodles were good. It's a pretty big place, it has an upstairs. Not sure why people give 3 stars as their food and service weren't bad at all.

I have never actually been to Millbrae before, nor did I even know this restaurant existed! Apparently there was a lunar new year festival, which made sense since my family and I were all going out for dim sum. Lol it was also some sort of farmers market, and a number of the streets were closed off, which we Didn't know about parking was scarce! Nevertheless, the food here was incredibly delicious, yet everything had MSG/mono sodium gluconate premixed into the batter or marinades. I am highly allergic since I have a number of food allergies. I was lucky enough to eat some sautéed broccoli And they just put salt and oil. Lol I was fine with it since we were going out to boba afterwards. There was also a wedding going on at the third level, my family and I were in a special section area behind the wedding party, but we could hear all their cultural Taiwanese music, and it brought back memories to my family! They have a gorgeous dining area with a stage on the third floor, and it was very well orchestrated, and made a great presentation!! On the second floor, where the restrooms are located there's also a smaller, private, seating area, and then on the first floor, there's a dining area as well!! These people know how to make a restaurant come to life, let me tell you!! Our server was very punctual and always made sure the adults and my nephews had everything we needed, yet she didn't know much about the menu and she said everything was premixed, which is why I couldn't even order the Vegetarian dim sum because she didn't know if it had MSG or soy sauce in the mixture. I wasn't willing to take the risk so like I said, I just had broccoli. My family all enjoyed the dim sum and told me how delicious everything tasted and it was very authentic, I smelled everything and it smelled delicious but I wasn't willing to risk it. lol

Perplexed by the low-star reviews; commendable dedication on Christmas Day deserves acknowledgment. The Dim Sum offerings at Tai Wu rival those of more high-end establishments like Dragon Beaux and their affiliated tea house. Noteworthy value for delivery; I intend to revisit. Crucially, the service, extending from the host/manager to the servers, was impeccable. The culinary execution was outstanding--each dish delivered hot, fresh, and in substantial portions. The $20 investment in the expansive fried rice attests to the establishment's favorable cost-effectiveness.

The dishes ordered were pretty tasty! And the portion sizes were generous! The 3 star rating people gave is a low ball to be honest. The ambiance may be a little old and run down on the inside, but the quality of food is sooo good! My fave was the spicy shrimp and honey walnut shrimp!!

Decent dimsum in a multilevel restaurant. We were seated on the 3rd floor. It was very spacious with high ceilings. You can tell asian wedding banquets can be held here. Condiments are provided upon request (hot mustard, soy sauce, chili sauce). I do like that the tea they give you is in a large tea pot so it lasts a few rounds. Food arrived quickly and hot! You can tell they were freshly steamed. Flavor of the dishes was pretty good - the soup dumplings were actually very decent! I like the herbal jelly that they gave at the end of the meal. It was super soothing yet refreshing. Price wise, it came out to 170 before tip for 5 people. We ordered 17 dishes, excluding the dessert and were very full. (we got 2 orders of the soup dumplings and the lava buns).
